How to Train Your Dragon Question

In your opinion, what happened to Hiccup's mom?

I've been having this question in my head for quite sometime and whenever his mom is mentioned, I'm always wondering what happened to her. My guess is that she died while being part of the Outcast or she was killed by a dragon before the movie started. I don't know. It's my opinion.
