does anyone have any advice that might help me? im so confused. my problem is in the details.

There is the guy in my class that I like and have known since kindergarten. I have no clue if he likes me. I would ask him out but I'm afraid that if I do he won't like me even as a friend anymore and he'll start avoiding me. Also it would kinda be weird for me if I asked him out and he said no because I see him all the time. See he is a basketball player and I'm a cheerleader so I'll see him at all the games. And he plays baseball and I'm also kinda on the team. And like I said he is in my class.
